CETAP

Intramammary Sealant

CETAP is the first hyaluronic acid-based sealant in Brazil, providing a physiological solution for sealing the teat canal. Its formula accelerates the keratin plug-building process, avoiding colostrum waste and complications caused by bismuth-based sealants that often damage the canal.

Indication

Indicated for cattle during the drying period, as it accelerates the formation of reticulated keratin. CETAP does not harm teat cells, being the only product in Brazil that does not contain bismuth subnitrate.

How to use

Before sealing, right after the last milking, reinforce teat cleaning according to the established farm protocol. Apply one syringe per teat and do not massage the teat after application.

Presentation

Sold in boxes containing 24 intramammary injectors with a flexible ring, each holding 3 mL.

Composition

Composition (per 100 mL):

Sodium Hyaluronate 0,3g
Poly-(D) Glucosamine 0,4g
Hydro-dispersible gel q.s.p 100ml

Technical information

Indications

CETAP is intended for the care of teats in dairy cows during the drying period. Its application is recommended at the start of the dry period.

Properties

It acts as a teat duct sealant, lasting throughout the cow's dry period. Due to its composition, it does not have therapeutic properties, serving as a physical barrier during this stage and aiding in maintaining the teat's integrity until the productive cycle resumes.

Dosage and Application Instructions

Administer via intramammary route.

  1. Before sealing, ensure thorough teat cleaning after the last milking, as per the farm?s protocol.
  2. If an antibiotic drying product was previously used, massage the teat to ensure the product is evenly distributed in the mammary gland before applying CETAP.
  3. Apply CETAP, using one injector per teat, covering all four quarters without massaging the teat.

Contraindications

Do not use in cows with clinical mastitis. For subclinical mastitis cases, follow the veterinarian's guidance and apply an antibiotic product before using CETAP.
