According to preliminary data from the IBGE Quarterly Milk Survey, formal milk collection in Brazil in the 4th quarter of 2024 totaled 6.75 billion liters, a significant growth of 4.1% compared to the same period in 2023 and 7.3% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2024.
The Revenue Minus Feed Cost (RMCA) index ended 2024 at a significantly higher level than the same period in 2023, with real growth of 50% in the 4th quarter, compared to the same period in 2023.
The positive end of 2024, combined with still favorable prices and the absence of major climate challenges on the horizon, suggests that milk production should continue its growth trajectory in the 1st quarter of 2025. The expectation is that the recovery will continue of the collection, driven by a more stable and profitable market environment for producers.
